Steps to Take if Your Identity is Stolen 
 
Alert the Credit Bureaus:
  • Experian: www.experian.com
    Order a report: 888-397-3742
    Report fraud: 888-397-3742
    Write: P.O. Box 9532, Allen, TX 75013
     
  • Equifax: www.equifax.com
    Order a report: 800-685-1111
    Report fraud: 800-525-6285
    Write: P.O. Box 740241, Atlanta, GA 30374
     
  • TransUnion: www.transunion.com
    Order a report: 800-888-4213
    Report Fraud: 800-680-7289
    Write: Fraud Victim Assistance Dept., P.O. Box 6790, Fullerton, CA 92834
     
  • Order a copy of your report from each credit bureau to review for other fraudulent activity.
     

Contact Your Financial Institutions:

  • Review account history for possible fraudulent activity.
     
  • Work with the fraud departments at your financial institutions to protect your account.
     
  • In addition, contact your local TTCU branch, even if your TTCU account is not affected, to let us know that your financial information has been compromised.
     

File a Police Report:

  • Contact your local police or the police in the community where the theft took place.

  

  • Obtain a copy of the report. 
     

File a Report with the Government:

  • File a report at www.ftc.gov or call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-ID-THEFT (438-4338).
       

Protect Your Financial Information:

  • Take measures to secure your personal information in your home. Click here to learn how to protect your personally identifying information.
     
  • Find out who has access to your personal information at work and verify that records are kept in a secure location.
