The Tennessee Credit Union has been alerted of a malicious e-mail that is currently circulating the internet. The e-mail appears to be from NACHA, The Electronic Payments Association, and is titled "Rejected ACH Transaction." The body of the message informs the potential victim that there is a problem with an ACH transaction that they have originated. There is a link contained in the message that, when clicked, will direct the victim to a counterfeit web page that looks like the NACHA web site. Clicking this link also downloads a virus with malware to your computer.
If you see this email in your inbox, DO NOT open it. Delete it immediately and do not chance infecting your computer with destructive and malicious software. If you have already received and opened this email, do not use online banking or online shopping websites. Malware often contains key logger software that will memorize your keystrokes and send them to the criminals who sent you the virus. They can use this information to gain log-ins, passwords, and financial information.
