New Sock Drive Now Underway for Kids in Need

TTCU and UniCycle, a school uniform recycling program, have a mission for TTCU members and employees this summer. Our goal is to help Nashville public school students who are in need so they can be ready for the start of school in August.

It is a Summer Black and White Sock Drive! From July 10-August 11, we are collecting adult-sized socks for MNPS high school students who are experiencing homelessness – there are 3,000 of them. UniCycle collects most clothing second-hand, but socks and underwear need to be new!

Kids prefer solid black or white athletic socks – tall or short, no-show or ankle-whatever you spy on the clearance rack on your next errand run.

Any donation - small or large - is so appreciated and will help us reach our goal of 3,000 pairs!

In our ongoing work to support public school students, families and teachers in the Nashville area, The Tennessee Credit Union has partnered with UniCycle to serve the approximately 3,000 MNPS students who are homeless for all or part of each school year. UniCycle works with the Homeless Education Resource Office (HERO) to ensure that these students also have appropriate school clothing.

TTCU currently has everyday UniCycle collection bins at the Main Branch (1400 8th Ave. South, Nashville) and the Rivergate Branch (917 Rivergate Parkway, Goodlettsville). However, all branches in Middle Tennessee and even Eastern Tennessee are participating between now and August 11.

Our Goal is 3,000 pairs of socks for our children in need.

We make it easy - just drop your donation at any branch location.
