TTCU Pencil Pouches Help Incentivize Students
The Tennessee Credit Union is proud to help Wright Middle School with its Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program. This program helps students learn, develops positive behaviors, and helps overcome resistance in accomplishing certain tasks.
Ms. Carlisle [on right in photo], business development manager at TTCU, delivered the colorful pencil pouches this week. Ms. Dewall [on left in photo], Community Achieves Site Manager at Wright Middle Prep explained a little more about the program, stating “Students receive Positive Behavior Tickets, which they can redeem for rewards and incentives. The challenge is keeping those tickets in one place. We found the number one cause of students not participating in our school incentives is that they lost their tickets. That’s why we needed donations of pencil pouches with zippers in a variety of colors and design.”
TTCU responded with a delivery of 432 pencil pouches on Monday. We hope these items serve as great rewards for the students and help encourage the behaviors teachers love to see.
At TTCU, we are proud to support community activities like this one. Our purpose is to help strengthen the communities in which we work and live. We do this through our passion of helping children, teachers and local schools.
We extend our special thanks to Ms. Dewall at Wright for inviting TTCU to participate in this program and for her efforts to provide a stimulating environment for education and growth for the students.
